Publifo Terms of Service

Effective date: Dec 21, 2025

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Publifo ("Publifo", "we", "us", or "our"), including our website, web application, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use Publifo.

1. Description of the Service

Publifo provides digital publishing tools that help authors convert finished manuscripts into technically formatted ebook files compatible with platforms such as Amazon KDP, and optionally create book sales pages for direct sales.

Publifo does not:

  • Publish books on your behalf
  • Guarantee acceptance by Amazon or any other platform
  • Provide marketing, sales, or revenue guarantees

The Service is intended for authors with finished manuscripts who are preparing to publish.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts to use Publifo. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Ensuring that files you upload are lawful and owned or licensed by you

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Files and Content

You retain all rights to the manuscripts and content you upload.

By uploading content, you grant Publifo a limited, non-exclusive right to process, store, and transform your files solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

You represent that:

  • You own or have rights to the content you upload
  • Your content does not infringe intellectual property rights
  • Your content complies with applicable laws

Publifo is not responsible for the content of your books or how third-party platforms interpret or review them.

5. Payments and Pricing

Publifo charges one-time fees for book exports and optional add-ons, as displayed on the Pricing page at the time of purchase.

There are:

  • No subscriptions
  • No recurring fees unless explicitly stated

All prices are exclusive of applicable taxes.

6. Refund and Credit Policy

Because Publifo provides digital services and immediate access to tooling, all payments are non-refundable once a book export or add-on has been used.

Formatting Guarantee

If Amazon KDP flags a technical formatting issue directly related to a file exported from Publifo, we will fix the issue at no additional cost.

This guarantee applies only if:

  • The file was exported directly from Publifo
  • The file was not modified after export
  • The rejection relates to technical formatting (not content, policy, or metadata)

Publifo does not guarantee:

  • Platform approval
  • Sales performance
  • Marketing results

In limited cases, we may issue account credits at our discretion.

7. Book Sales Pages

If you purchase a Book Sales Page:

  • The page is provided on a one-time fee basis
  • Hosting is included while your account remains active
  • You are responsible for payment processor accounts (Stripe, PayPal)

Publifo does not process customer payments on your behalf and is not responsible for chargebacks, taxes, or customer disputes related to your book sales.

8. Account Suspension and Inactivity

We may suspend or deactivate accounts if:

  • There is no account activity for an extended period
  • Payments are reversed or disputed fraudulently
  • The Service is misused or abused
  • These Terms are violated

Inactive accounts may have associated Book Sales Pages suspended. We may provide notice before suspension, but are not required to do so in all cases.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful content
  • Attempt to reverse engineer the Service
  • Abuse system resources or exploit usage limits
  • Misrepresent Publifo as a publisher or agent

10. Third-Party Services

Publifo integrates with or produces files for third-party platforms such as Amazon KDP, Stripe, and PayPal.

Publifo is not responsible for:

  • Changes in third-party policies
  • Platform rejections or account actions
  • Downtime or failures of third-party services

Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Publifo makes no warranties regarding uninterrupted operation, platform acceptance, or outcomes.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Publifo shall not be liable for:

  • Lost profits or revenues
  • Loss of data
  • Indirect or consequential damages

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to Publifo for the relevant service.

13. Termination

You may stop using Publifo at any time.

We may terminate or suspend access to the Service if these Terms are violated.

Upon termination:

  • Unused credits may be forfeited
  • Access to Book Sales Pages may be removed

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Publifo is registered, without regard to conflict of law principles.
